Diagnosis & Screening
When you first arrive at Davis ENT, we start by reviewing your current symptoms. We also take a look at your family history, helping to determine if allergies may be playing a role in your health concerns. If the signs are clearly pointing to allergies, the Davis ENT team will give you an allergy test. Once it is determined what you are allergic to, the team will assist you in developing an individualized treatment plan.
Treatment Options
Avoidance: While this is not always an option for certain allergies, this is always the first option for allergy treatment. This is the act of simply avoiding what you are allergic to.
Medication: There are several over-the-counter or prescription medications that can be taken to aid your allergic symptoms. It will not always cure your allergies, but it sure can help. Dr. Davis may recommend any of the following: antihistamines, decongestants, prescription nasal sprays, leukotriene inhibitors, and more.
Immunotherapy: This treatment helps build up antibodies through repeated exposure to allergens. This reduces your allergic reactions and can potentially eliminate the allergy. Dr. Davis usually implements this process if avoidance and/or medication doesn’t improve your symptoms.
